Cotton innovation to go on show in Paris

Amid concerns about the effects of flooding on the cotton crop in the US, cotton industry trade association Cotton Council International (CCI) has said it will use the autumn 2017 Première Vision event in Paris September (19-21) to display new high-tech, cotton-rich fabrics under its Cotton USA brand. The fabrics will be part of a broader feature called ‘What’s New In Cotton’.

In the build-up to the Paris event, CCI executive director, Bruce Atherley, said examples of the innovation on show would be cotton garments that help the wearer “feel better faster” after exercise, sweat-resistant T-shirts and denim that feels cool on hot days. “The objective is to inspire everyone in the textile business to think about the many opportunities in US cotton,” Mr Atherley said.
