Substantial first-half growth for JD Sports

12/09/2017
Sports and outdoor retail group JD Sports has announced first-half sales of more than £1.3 billion, an increase of 40% compared to the first six months of last year. The company said its profit before tax on the 2017 figure is £102.7 million, an increase year on year of 33%.

Outdoor sales increased from £73.1 million in the first six months of 2016 to £196.6 million in the first six months of this year. The company’s acquisition of Sheffield-based retailer Go Outdoors at the end of 2016 made a big contribution to this growth.
