Cotton Inc. hires first chief sustainability officer

Cotton Incorporated has appointed Dr Jesse Daystar as its chief sustainability officer, the first time it has filled this position.

It said the appointment extends the company’s commitment to the sustainability of cotton across the supply chain.

Dr Daystar has an extensive research background related to sustainability, particularly when it comes to cellulosic fibres, including cotton. 

He joins Cotton Inc from Duke University in North Carolina, where he was assistant director of the Duke Centre for Sustainability and Commerce. He also held a teaching position there.
