John Malkovich presents PV Awards for innovative textiles

American actor and fashion designer John Malkovich presided over this year’s Première Vision Awards, the winners of which were announced during the show in Paris this week (September 19 to 21).

Each year the event singles out the most inventive products from weavers and tanners exhibiting at the Première Vision Fabrics and Première Vision Leather shows.

In addition to the six PV Awards traditionally given out, this ninth edition awarded two new prizes for responsible creative fashion.

A-Girls from Japan was awarded the PV Fabrics Grand Jury Prize for “the most outstanding, symbolic and pertinent fabric of the season”.

Also from Japan, CRAFTEVO took the PV Fabrics Handle Prize for “the fabric allying the most astonishing tactile and behavioural qualities”.

Italy’s Leathertex took the The PV Fabrics Imagination Prize for “the boldest, most original, fabric in terms of decoration, technique, finishing, innovation or technology” Schoeller Textil from Switzerland received The PV Fabrics Fashion Smart Creation Prize for “most creative responsible fabric”.

Tanneries Ahlskog, Aqpel, FC Creacio i Innovacio and Nova Kaeru also received prizes for creative leathers.
