Rieter reaches agreement with unions over Czech move
29/09/2017
It first announced in February 2017 that it wanted to transfer production of its machines to a site at Usti in the Czech Republic and use its facility at Ingolstadt in Germany as a product development and service centre.
It says it has now agreed a package of measures with union representatives to compensate Ingolstadt employees who face losing their jobs as a result of the move.
Rieter has made offers to 220 affected employees, giving them the option of compensation and support for losing their positions or transferring to new jobs elsewhere in the company.
