The Peruvian government is seeking to protect companies working in the textile industry by offering them the option of paying their monthly taxes in three installments.

The idea of the new measure, which will benefit an estimated 200,000 textile companies, is to prevent businesses from being forced to close due to a temporary loss of liquidity.

The measure was trialed last year and now around 70% of companies linked to this industry have opted to sign up to it.

The government hopes it will help to increases productivity in the Peruvian textile industry.
