Rieter greets uplift in textile machine orders

27/10/2017
Swiss textile machinery manufacturer Rieter has a 3% uplift in sales of its machines in the first nine months of 2017 compared to the same period last year. Orders for new machines earned the company 490 million Swiss francs between January and September this year; total revenues, including those from after-sales services and components were 765 million Swiss francs.

It said orders from Asia as a whole have been strong, but that there have been signs of a slowdown in two of its most important markets there, China and India. An increase in demand for after-sales services in China and India, which includes installation of machines, has contributed to overall growth, Rieter said.
