UK Active launches 2018 Active Lab programme

30/10/2017
UK Active, a not-for-profit organisation working to encourage more people to become active, will run a second edition of Active Lab programme in 2018 following a successful launch in 2017.

It has asked digital start-ups with a product that could help people make their lifestyles more active to apply for a place on the 12-week programme. Applications opened on October 30 and will close on December 22. UK Active will announce the names of the companies that will take part in 2018 on February 28 and the programme itself will run from March 21 to June 20.

Participants will receive access to expertise through weekly workshops, events and bespoke mentoring opportunities. They will have the opportunity to pitch to and meet influencers, potential investors and like-minded peers.

“We’re looking for start-ups that get more people, more active, more often,” UK Active said at the launch of the 2018 programme. It said applicants should have a “tested and technically defensible product” and a team with a track record. However, it will also consider businesses with working prototypes on the verge of launch if they can provide sufficient proof of concept and market potential.
