Salomon aims to join the €1 billion club

Salomon was founded in Annecy, close to the French Alps, in 1947, making this year its seventieth birthday.
Amer has published figures showing that, since 2010, Salomon’s net sales have grown from €400 million per year to €900 million per year now. In recent comments, Salomon president, Jean-Marc Pambet, said: “In ten years, we have transformed ourselves from a €400 million winter sports equipment brand to a €900 million outdoor brand, with 70% sales from soft goods. Our aspiration is to grow beyond €1 billion in net sales. We have to keep bringing innovation to the market, developing the sports we are in, supporting specialty dealers and mastering all commercial fundamentals.”
Echoing recent comments from the Amer Group, Mr Pambet went on to say that a recent slowdown in the US wholesale environment has had an impact on sales, but he insisted consumer demand continues to be “dynamic”.
