Adidas aiming for growth in US market

The chief finance officer of adidas, Hans Ohlmeyer, has said the group harbours ambitions to increase its share of the US sports market.

In comments to a business newspaper in Germany, Mr Ohlmeyer said adidas is aiming to achieve a share of between 15% and 20% of the US market. Commentators in the US said in response that they calculate adidas’ share at the moment at around 10%, which would mean it will double its market-share if it achieves the aim of gaining a 20% share.
