The NanoStitch collection has three offerings to make fabrics with comfort and compression attributes for sportswear. The three are called Active, Air and Extreme.

Active is for garments that require breathability, four-way stretch, and limited compression without constriction. Examples incldue yoga pants, running gear and underwear.

For its part, Air fabrics are made using delicate, fine-gauge knitting machines and offer lightness, soft touch, light compression and a “second-skin” feel, Liebaert has said.

Extreme is engineered to help optimise athletic performance by offering maximum compression and comfort, the company said.

Marketing manager, Mathieu Liebaert, said on making the announcement that sales in lingerie, the main market for its fabrics up till now, have been falling for the past 10 or even 15 years and that the company has been looking for new market opportunities for some time.
