Pentland opens up search for new charity partners
Sports and outdoor group Pentland Brands has given charity projects until April 20 to apply for funding as part of a search for new corporate charity partners.

“At the heart of our business is the belief that we have a responsibility to play our part in being a force for good and using our brands to make a positive impact in the communities where we operate,” the company said on making the announcement.

It said it is looking in particular to support projects that inspire people to become more active or projects that empower disadvantaged communities.

It then said it would give priority to projects focused either on the UK, where Pentland has its base, or on any of its “key sourcing markets”, which it listed as Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

It is looking for project proposals with a value of between £10,000 and £50,000 and with a duration of between one and three years. Projects chosen must have a measurable impact and be sustainable beyond the period of Pentland funding.

Candidate projects can email their proposals to cr@pentland.com; shortlisted charities will be invited to pitch at Pentland Brands headquarters in London on Thursday, May 10, 2018.
