Hong Kong textile firm on the acquisition trail

A Hong Kong-based yarn, fabric and garment manufacturer, Texhong Textile Group, has told Asian media that it is actively looking for companies to acquire. It has said the cost of buying an existing operation would cost one-third as much as building up its own production capacity.

It made the announcement at a press conference to announce its 2017 results. Its revenues for the year were almost $2.6 billion, an increase of 19.5% compared to 2016. But it wants to increase its production in the course of 2018 and believes acquisition will be the quickest path to growth.
