DowDuPont announces CEO of new spin-off material science company

12/03/2018
Dow Chemical’s chief operating officer, Jim Fitterling, has been named as the person who will become the first chief executive of a new materials science company that is to separate from the DowDuPont group. DowDuPont announced at the end of February that it is separating into three separate companies. The material science division will take the Dow name with it, whereas a separate specialty products division will be called DuPont.

The third company that is spinning off from DowDuPont will be its agricultural division, to be called Corteva Agriscience.

Group chief finance officer, Howard Ungerleider, will make the move with Mr Fitterling and become chief finance officer of the new Dow. Both will continue in their current roles until the separation process is complete, which the group has said is likely to be by the end of the first quarter of 2019.
