H&M distributes €1m in grants to speed up waste-free fashion ideas

H&M Foundation ran the Global Change Award programme for the third time in 2018 and announced the winners of grants totalling €1 million on March 20. A grant of €300,000 has gone to Crop-A-Porter from the US, while The Regenerator from Sweden won funding of €250,000. There were also awards of €150,000 each for Algae Apparel from Israel, Smart Stitch from Belgium and Fungi Fashion from the Netherlands.
“This day marks the start of a one-year innovation accelerator where H&M Foundation, Accenture and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm will support the winners to cut years off their timeline,” said H&M chief executive, Karl-Johan Persson, who is also a board member of the H&M Foundation.
