Maturolife project brings smart safety devices closer for older people
03/04/2018
The research body is one of 20 partners from across Europe that began working on Maturolife at the start of 2018. In a statement it made about the project at the start of April, CTCR said a new process was emerging from this work combining nanotechnology, electro-chemicals and materials science to endow fibres with properties including conductivity and electronic connectivity.
This will make it easier for smart product developers to integrate electronics and sensor functionality into clothes and shoes. The lightness in weight, comfort and look of such products will represent an improvement for older people, compared to having to wear alarms on their wrists or necks to help keep them safe, CTCR said.
