Arvind says graphene treatment will lead to “new-age clothing”
Developer of graphene-based technoloy Directa Plus is pressing forward with its plans to increase its textiles business with a new agreement with Indian group Arvind.

Directa Plus will supply its G+ technology to Arvind to allow the company to add functionality to a range of denim garments. Heat dissipation, energy harvesting, data transmission and no odour effect are among the benefits that Arvind believes it will give wearers of jackets, shirts and jeans enhanced with G+. In addition, Directa Plus has pointed out that its G+ textile treatment is hypoallergenic, non-toxic and sustainably produced.

Chief executive of Arvind’s denim business, Aamir Akhtar, said at the time of the announcement: “The use of graphene in denims is absolutely new and will yield some of the smartest, most widely used fabrics in the years ahead. We are excited about the opportunities it presents, and we want our key customers to be among the first to experience the advanced, new-age clothing we will create with Directa Plus.”
