Surge in polyester yarn price affects Indian mills

Reports from India say textile mills are reducing their hours of operation in states such as Gujarat partly because of recent increases in the price of polyester yarn.

Synthetic textile producers in and around the city of Surat have complained that polyester yarn prices have increased by between 6% and 8% in the last month, and by 12% to 15% in the last three months.
