Mountain Khakis save tourist from camel bite

Oscar Anderson wrote to the Jackson Hole-based brand to relay a close escape from a camel’s teeth. Mr Anderson was on holiday in Morocco with his family and decided to take part in a camel trek through part of the desert. All was going well until the camel behind the one Mr Anderson was riding got hungry and attempted to take a bite out of him.
“The camel behind me tried to take a chomp out of my thigh,” he said in a message to Mountain Khakis. But my MK Trail Creek pants were strong enough to deter him and all that was left were a few teeth marks.”
The outdoor company was pleased to learn of Oscar Anderson’s escape and has pointed out that, in addition to high levels of camel-bite resistance, the trousers offer water-repellency, UPF 40+ sun protection and low-profile cargo pockets on both thighs.
Senior product manager, Ned Hutchinson, commented: “I can’t say we design pants to withstand camel bites, however, we do put a lot of thought, time and energy into sourcing materials with technical features that make travelling easier and more comfortable.”
