Yarn Expo Autumn postponed until October

Messe Frankfurt has confirmed that this year’s Yarn Expo Autumn, which traditionally takes place alongside Intertextile Shanghai in September, will be postponed until October.

Intertextile Shanghai Autumn 2018 is scheduled for September 27-29. However, due to renovation work taking place at the city’s National Exhibition and Convention Centre a number of the halls are unavailable, making it impossible for Yarn Expo Autumn to take place at the same time.

It will instead take place from October 15-17, in parallel with the combined ITMA ASIA and CITME exhibition, which extends for a further two days after the conclusion of Yarn Expo.

“This unavailability of the halls was unforeseen,” said Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt HK, “but upon notice from the fairground, we immediately assessed all possible alternatives for hosting the fair.”

She expressed confidence that the event could achieve “the same strong business results” alongside ITMA Asia and CITME.
