Online direct-to-consumer sales boost The North Face Q1 performance

VF Corporation has reported revenues for the first quarter of its current financial year of almost $2.8 billion, a 23% increase on the same period a year ago. The quarter is the three-month period ending June 30.

It gave no brand-specific revenue totals but said its main outdoor brand, The North Face, had achieved growth of 8% compared to the same quarter a year ago.

Sales in the US were flat but there was growth of 21% in Europe and of 32% in Asia. Online direct-to-consumer sales for The North Face increased by 30% over the period.
