It is created from Invista nylon 6,6 multi-filament fibre that is solution dyed, with the colour locked in at the molten polymer extrusion level to create what Cordura calls “deep, durable colour” throughout the entire fibre structure.
In Denver, Cordura displayed the TrueLock fibre in the colour ‘Wolf Gray’. It is available in a further six colours: Desert Sand, Tan, Coyote, Ranger Green, Camo Green and Black.
The company has said that the process used to dye this fibre offers several environmental benefits such as reduced water and energy consumption, and reduced dye and chemical usage. It also offers a series of other advantages, including abrasion resistant colour, inherent stain resistance and colour consistency across different textile components.
“Throughout our 50-year journey, we’ve worked to establish a foundation built on durable and long-lasting fibre technologies, including our legacy of solution dyed, high-performance nylon 6,6 offerings,” said Cindy McNaull, Cordura’s global brand and marketing director. “As we advance on this journey, we continue to invest and expand our capabilities to include solutions that are not only durable, but step lighter on the path to sustainability.”
