Solvay announces new chief executive
Advanced materials and specialty chemicals group Solvay has announced that Dr Ilham Kadri will become its new chief executive in March 2019. She will join the Belgium-based group on January 1 and will spend two months working with current chief executive, Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, before taking over.

Dr Kadri has been chief executive of a US-based hygiene technology company, Diversey, since 2013. Her experience includes previous spells at Huntsman and Dow Chemical.

At the time of the announcement, she said her focus at Solvay will be on “value-creation based on innovation, collaboration, a customer-centric culture and a clear sense of purpose”.
