Titas responds to the changing needs of its visitors

Speaking to representatives from international media organisations on the second day of this year’s show, he explained that a review involving brands and manufacturers that attended previous editions found that the show needed to be about more than simply sourcing materials for garments.
The review revealed that those attending the show wanted greater certainty that the final products they manufacture would be of the same high standard as the technical materials that are displayed at Titas each year.
Mr Huang pointed out that this is difficult as the manufacturing process for garments is a highly complex one. It requires skilled labour, something which is not always easy to find in key apparel manufacturing countries, such as China, Vietnam and Myanmar.
This shortage of skilled workers means there is an increasing requirement for automation, something which TTF has acknowledged at Titas 2018 by increasing the amount of space dedicated to makers of garment manufacturing machinery. Mr Huang said this category of exhibitor makes up 25% of the total exhibition space this year, with plans to increase this proportion further in 2019.
In addition, the organisers will invite Chinese and Japanese machinery manufacturers to next year’s exhibition, with Mr Huang acknowledging that these countries have greater prowess in this field than Taiwanese companies.
TTF’s president also hinted that there could be an alteration to the name of the exhibition in 2019. The ‘Titas’ acronym would remain, but the ‘A’ may change and refer to ‘apparel’ rather than ‘application’.
