All well with gel-dyed fibre, Thai company says

Fibre manufacturer Thai Acrylic Fibre (TAF) has said its Radianza dyed fibre offers a series of benefits compared to competitor products by virtue of being dyed while in gel form.

TAF has explained that, for Radianza, it keeps the polymer in gel form before injecting it into spinnerets and before it becomes solid fibre. It injects a basic dye solution to the gel at this stage. “The polymer in gel state immediately absorbs dye solution without additional water, chemicals and energy,” the company has said, “therefore, Radianza uses less water, energy, dyestuffs and so on, making it an environmentally friendly product.”

It said it has concluded a lifecycle analysis of Radianza and will release the findings in the near future.
