Rieter laments lack of orders from India and Turkey

02/11/2018
Textile machinery developer Rieter received orders with a combined value of just under 750 million Swiss francs in the first nine months of 2018, which represents a decline of 2% compared to the same months last year.

Based on the orders that have come in, Rieter’s assessment of the global textile market is that demand in Turkey is “very low”, while “increasing challenges in financing deals” are holding Indian textile companies back from investing in new technology. The company has also said  “development is stable” in China. In the rest of Asia, demand has improved, especially in Vietnam, it added.
