Strong quarter for adidas despite Reebok dip

08/11/2018
Sportswear manufacturer adidas has reported revenue of €5.8 billion in the third quarter of 2018 (ended September 30), an increase of 8% compared to the same period of last year on a currency-neutral basis.

Revenue from the adidas brand was €5.3 billion, up 9.8%. The company said this was driven by growth in sales of its Sport Performance products, particularly training and running gear.

The net sales of the Reebok brand fell 4.7% to €436 million. This decline came despite double-digit growth from the brand’s Classics business.

There was mixed news for the overall adidas group in terms of regional performance, with increases in revenue in North America (+16.5%), Asia-Pacific (+15.2%) and Russia/CIS (+6.5%) mixed with declines in Western Europe (-1.3%), Latin America (-0.4%) and Emerging Markets (-2.4%).
