Revenues up for Yue Yuen, but not from shoe production

Athletic footwear manufacturing group Yue Yuen has announced revenues of just over $7.1 billion for the first nine months of 2018, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period in 2017.

Making athletic shoes for brands, including Merrell, Salomon, Puma, Under Amour, Reebok, Converse, ASICS, New Balance, Puma, Nike and adidas, brought in 43.2% of group revenues, just under $3.1 billion. Most of the rest of the group’s revenue, 35.6% of the total, came from its retail division, Pou Sheng.

In terms of volume, Yue Yuen manufactured 236.5 million pairs over the nine-month period, which is a small decline, 0.9%, on the total for the first nine months of 2017. The average price per pair, $16.62, was 1.9% lower.
