The latest issue of WSA magazine is now available
22/01/2019
This issue leads with an article that addresses the question of durable water repellency in outdoor clothing. It argues that the industry has reached a tipping point with this technology. One of our other lead features focuses on how the change in the way consumers interact with their clothing is leading to new technologies, while the final one explores why fibre and fabric manufacturers are starting to appeal directly to the consumer.
In the Newcomers section, we put the spotlight on the new biodegradable fibre from PrimaLoft. The Rise to the Challenge feature is dedicated to a new ski jacket that features an active membrane for enhanced breathability.
The important topic of climate change is addressed in our Sustainability section. This topic was chosen after a number of important textile value chain players recently signed a new United Nations charter on climate action.
Other features in the issue include a round-up of the first Performance Days exhibition to take place at its new venue, and the story of a South African brand that has found an innovative use for discarded sails.
As always, the magazine closes with a question-and-answer session with an influential industry figure. This time, we feature Aurore Calmier, head of brand at Eider.
