Messe Frankfurt to launch new exhibition in India

The Gartex exhibition will be combined with Messe Frankfurt’s Texprocess India show to form Gartex Texprocess India. It will be part of the German group’s Texpertise Network.
Both Gartex India and Texprocess India were launched in 2016, with the former taking place in New Delhi and the latter held in Mumbai. The Gartex exhibition has since expanded beyond the garment and textile manufacturing value chain to cover segments like innerwear, denim, digital textile printing and embroidery.
Explaining its decision to launch this joint exhibition, Messe Frankfurt referenced that India is the world’s second largest exporter of textiles and clothing, with exports projected to reach $300 billion by 2024. It added that the country’s textile machinery sector is experiencing growth of 8-10% each year.
Gartex Texprocess India will maintain a strong focus on garment and textile manufacturing solutions, but also aims to expand to include technologies related to design, cutting, sewing, knitting and finishing, among other areas.
