Brazil’s cotton producers expect a good year

Brazil’s cotton producers’ association, Abrapa, has the prospects for their next harvest appear good.

Abrapa attended a recent meeting in Brasilia with counterpart associations for soya and corn. Addressing the meeting, the president of specialist consultancy Agroconsult, André Pessoa, said the cotton crop looked to be in very good condition.

Planting went well, he said, and, at harvest time, he predicted that cotton could compensate producers for weaker crops in soya and corn. “This is going to be a year of good results,” he said.
