An investment fund called Mirabaud Patrimoine Vivant has invested €10 million in French sports brand Le Coq Sportif. The brand’s majority shareholder, Swiss investment firm Airesis, has welcomed the move.

Renaud Dutreil, one of the people who created Mirabaud Patrimoine Vivant, said on making the announcement: “Our investment in Le Coq Sportif is emblematic of our strategy, which is based on three principles: to support entrepreneurs with strong convictions, to promote manufacturing skills (especially in France), and to develop the reputation of a brand known for its innovation and creative values.”

In 2010, Le Coq Sportif returned to its industrial roots by reviving its factory at Romilly-sur-Seine, around 125 kilometres east of Paris. Its clothing ranges are developed here and knitting and dyeing is carried out by companies based in the same part of France, although most finished product assembly is in the hands of “a high-quality partner” in Morocco.

Le Coq Sportif is currently the official kit supplier of the French national rugby team, of the Tour de France and of football clubs such as Saint Etienne in France, Fiorentina in Italy and Atletico Mineiro in Brazil.
