Lectra chases disruptive innovations at new facility
Cutting technology provider Lectra has announced the opening of a new Innovation Lab at the advanced technological campus that it has at Cestas, near Bordeaux.

The company said the aim of this facility is to capture emerging trends, anticipate evolutions and enhance its future technological solutions. The innovations developed there will be aimed at the fashion, automotive and furniture markets. The initial focus will be on solutions for the fashion industry.

The activities that take place there will include work on fabric types and body measurements. This will feed into the Digtex project that Lectra launched with the European Centre for Innovative Textiles (CETI) and French engineering institution ENSAIT. Its research has focused on practical and innovative solutions that allow consumers to create customized clothing. It has also carried out work to strengthen the traceability of clothing.

Announcing the opening of the Innovation Lab, Lectra’s chief transformation officer, Véronique Zoccoletto, said: "Innovation, particularly disruptive innovation, implies a real cultural transformation within the company. One cannot simply will it into existence. The Innovation Lab teams have understood this well: they are making tangible advances in strengthening Lectra's and our employees' commitment to follow this path and lead our customers toward success.”
