Chinese sportswear group Xtep International has announced it has agreed to purchase E-Land Footwear, the owner of US athletic shoe brand K-Swiss. It will pay $260 million for a 100% stake in the company.

The acquisition is part of Xtep’s strategy to become a multi-brand group. Other brands owned by E-Land include Palladium, Supra, PLDM and KR3W.

“The board believes that the transaction is an attractive opportunity to invest in a portfolio of global renowned sportswear and lifestyle brands targeting the high-end market segment,” Xtep chairman Ding Shui Po said in the statement.

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of July.
