At its 2019 general assembly in Brussels on June 13, Euratex re-elected Alberto Paccanelli as its president for the next two years. Chief executive of Bergamo-based home textiles group Martinelli Ginetto, Mr Paccanelli was president of Euratex between 2011 and 2014.

Vice-presidents will be Jean-François Gribomont from Belgiuam, Gregory Marchant from France, Rusen Cetin from Turkeu and Bodo Bölzle from Germany.

A new director general will run the Euratex office in Brussels. Dirk Vantyghem, who has more than 20 years’ experience in representing European businesses as a director of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, will take up the role.

Mr Vantyghem said he wanted to help Euratex to build “an ambitious partnership” with the European Union.
