New president for Eurosima

Mr Rodrigues knows the organisation well, having been a member of its board for seven years, four of them as vice-president.
After his election, Mr Rodrigues said the 2024 Olympics will be “key for our industry”. Surfing’s inclusion at the 2024 Games in Paris is not yet secure and Eurosima has worked to encourage the International Olympic Committee to include the sport and to use the area around Biarritz as one of the venues.
“As the birth place of the European surfing industry, our territory must absolutely host this Olympic surfing event,” the new Eurosima president said. “Putting our brands and our athletes to work for that objective will help us reach our goal.”
Apart from Boardriders, other prominent companies that make up the membership and leadership of Eurosima include Rip Curl, Volcom, Oakley, O’Neill and Roxy. Almost 90% of current members are based in France, with others coming from Spain, Portugal, the UK, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
