Water-based PU coating technology helps meet eco-demand, Archroma says

One of a series of innovations that specialty chemicals manufacturer Archroma introduced at ITMA 2019 was Lurapret N5396 & N5392 liq, which it describes as a water-based ultra-low volatile organic compound polyurethane polymer coating technology.

It said it was responding to growing demand in the textile industry for products with a lower environmental footprint, including in coatings that offer functionality such as waterproofness, flexibility, durability and ultraviolet resistance. “Water-based polyurethane coatings are progressively prevailing as the preferred coating technology,” the company said.
