Fire hits Makalot factories in Vietnam

Taiwan-based clothing manufacturer Makalot has said it may relocate 1,000 workers to neighbouring facilities after a fire broke out at two of its factories in Vietnam.

No one was hurt in the blaze, but materials and machinery have been destroyed, according to a report in the Taipei Times.

The facilities were among six that the group own in Vietnam, and it said it is evaluating financial losses but that it didn’t expect orders to be affected. 

Makalot supplies to brands including Under Armour, Sketchers and outdoor-wear focused VF Corporation.
