New funding for smart footwear technology platform

Footwear technology start-up FeetMe has successfully raised €9.4 million in new funding.

FeetMe’s technology uses smart materials in footwear insoles to analyse in real time wearers’ health. The French company said it would use the money to fund a programme of clinical trials of its technology in hospitals and rehabilitation centres around the world.

Analysis of a wearer’s walking pattern can give early warning of conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or foot health problems related to diabetes.

Founder, Alexis Mathieu, commented: “Our platform has demonstrated its capacity to generate real-time data that can speed up large-scale clinical research.”
