New general manager for HDWool

HDWool is a recent spin-off from H Dawson, a wool producer founded more than 130 years ago. Its aim was to encourage brands to use wool in insulation layers in garments; brands who were quick to adopt its materials include Hugo Boss and Finisterre.
Innovate UK, a government body that aims to encourage innovation leadership and Sky Ocean Ventures, an investment arm of the Sky broadcasting company, have both invested in HDWool in recent months, with the Sky company saying it believed use of materials like those HDWool produces could help reduce the volumes of micro-plastics in the oceans of the world.
Steve Fowler has extensive outdoor industry experience, having worked at retail groups Wilderness Ways and Bridgedale Outdoor, as well as at outdoor footwear brand Brasher Boot.
