Intertextile Shanghai passes last year’s visitor numbers in two days

Organiser Messe Frankfurt has said it was pleased with how the twenty-fifth anniversary edition of its Intertextile Shanghai event went. The exhibition ended on September 27 after three days.

Senior general manager, Wendy Wen, said on the final morning of the show that she thought it had gone well. More than 4,400 exhibitors occupied 236,000 square-metres of floor-space and, although final figures were not yet available, Messe Frankfurt’s initial findings suggested that more than 80,000 visitors had attended on the first two days.

This means the autumn 2019 edition attracted more visitors in the first two days than the corresponding event in 2018 had across all three days.

Ms Wen said she was also pleased with how Interetextile Shanghai’s fringe programme had gone. For the first time anywhere in Asia, this included a version of the FashionSustain conference, which Messe Frankfurt has run in Berlin since the start of 2018.
