Olympic ‘catwalk’ opportunity for sports textiles

The organisers of the second Innovations in Sports Materials conference, which will take place in Ghent on November 19 and 20, have said that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be more than an arena for the best athletes in the world to meet and compete.

In the build-up to the event, Belgian textile research and design centre Centexbel, organiser of the event, said the Olympic Games next summer will also serve as a “catwalk for innovative materials” in sports textiles.

New developments in sports materials, sports clothing, smart materials and performance-enhancing materials will feature prominently at the Ghent event.

Confirmed speakers include Seth Casden of Celliant, Raymond Jacobs of Sanitized and Stephan Müller of Rudolf Group.
