Founder remains confident of turnaround at Superdry

08/11/2019
Clothing brand Superdry has reported revenues of £367.8 million in the first  six months of its business year, the period  to October 26, 2019. This is a fall of 11.3% compared to the same period last year.

Commenting on the figures, founder, Julian Dunkerton, who retired from the business in April having stepped down a year earlier, said Superdry was making progress.

He explained: “We are moving the business away from a reliance on constant promotions, and while this focus on full-price sales has affected revenue in the first half, this is being partially offset by a better gross margin performance. There is good momentum in the business, and I remain confident of returning Superdry to sustainable long-term growth.”
