ISO success for third WL Gore fabrics plant
17/12/2019
This means all three Gore-owned plants around the world that manufacture fabrics are compliant with this standard for environmental management systems, following earlier success at Elk Mills in the US and Shenzhen in China.
ISO 14001 was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 1996. It specifies worldwide accepted requirements for environmental management systems that enable organisations to improve their environmental footprint, comply with legal and other duties, and achieve their environmental goals. This international standard focuses on the concept of continuous improvement, based on the ‘plan-do-check-act’ process cycle.
Responding to the news, fabrics division sustainability programme leader, Bernhard Kiehl, said: “This emphasises our commitment to comply with the same high standards in all plants of our fabrics division worldwide.”
