Woven label maker launches eco-friendly labels and project

03/02/2020
Varcotex, the European producer of woven labels and hang tags, has launched an ethically-produced, 100% biodegradable woven label made from natural raw materials. The company has also announced the start of Varcobosco, a tree-planting scheme designed to counter CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.

According to the company, the biodegradable Biolabel woven labels are made entirely with natural raw materials and are plastic free. Raw materials include sustainable organic compost that complies with FSC/SFI standards from reforestation programmes.

The production cycle, the company added, is a clean, eco-sustainable process that has low water consumption and non-hazardous emissions. Varcotex has obtained OEKO-TEX Standard Class 1 certification in weaving for its woven and printed labels as well as GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certification.

As part of the new Varcobosco project, the company has acquired land for safeguarding project continuity. Planting a thousand trees per year is aimed at reducing the company’s environmental footprint.
