Made in female-only Jordan factory, TNF collection is for women by women

The North Face (TNF) has released a capsule collection in support of International Women’s Day, created by an all-female team and manufactured at a women-only factory in Jordan. 

Women’s rights activist Oryana Awaisheh led the initiative, from the design stage (managed by TNF’s Annaleigh Hockaday) all the way through to manufacture at Jordan’s new Jerash Garment Factory.

Ms Awaisheh is executive manager at the factory, which is said to provide 500 jobs and opportunities for local women. TNF said the collection is the first of many orders to be placed there.

Pieces include a t-shirt and a cotton tote bag, both with a print of two women dancing on top of a mountain and the phrase “Because together We Move Mountains”.
