Icebreaker appoints new senior director, wholesale and retail North America

Outdoor brand Icebreaker has appointed Gene Piccotti to senior director, wholesale and retail in North America. This is a promotion from his previous role as head of US wholesale, which he’s held since joining the company in 2018.

Mr Piccotti has received the company’s “Think Different” Hei Toki award, and he has been credited for “[leading] change through an evolving Where To Play distribution strategy in the US”.

Prior to joining the merino wool outdoor and natural performance outdoor clothing brand, Mr Piccotti led emerging growth divisions and new product launches for Volcom, Quiksilver and Hurley/Nike.

“Gene’s additional previous experience in global product development, operations, and years growing up in a family-owned sporting goods retail store have enabled him to build a reputation of collaboration and insight with his teams and partners,” Icebreaker said in a statement.
