Swedish golfing apparel brand Galvin Green is introducing a version of its signature Insula material made with recycled plastic bottles.

The new Eco Generation Insula is said to be 100% recycled; the Dwight Insula sweater (pictured) is made from 17 litre-sized recycled plastic bottles.

Insula material, according to the company, is a high-performance intermediate layer designed for use in cold weather. The soft, lightweight material is said to insulate body heat maintaining optimal body temperature. All Insula fabric is produced in factories using solar roof panels to generate power for the machinery, the company said.

According to the company’s Facebook page, “Wherever possible, we choose sustainable textile production methods, fabrics and labels.”
