Motorcycle range gets antibac treatment

Motorcycle brand Royal Enfield Apparel has partnered with antimicrobial textile technology company Polygiene on a new range that includes t-shirts, balaclavas, neck- and headgear, riding jackets and gloves.

The addition of Biostatic (which inhibits viruses) and Odor Crunch (based on silica and water) technologies is said to stop the growth of bacteria. More products will be added in the coming seasons, the companies said, both from the protective and lifestyle lines.

Treated headgear fits in with Royal Enfield’s efforts to encourage people to cover their faces using the headgear as a voluntary public health measure.

The partnership is a step forward in staying sustainable and relevant to riders, said Puneet Sood, head of a business with Royal Enfield, as treated materials need fewer washes.
