Delta Apparel joins Cotton LEADS program
Delta Apparel, the parent company of activewear brands such as Soffe and Salt Life, has joined the Cotton LEADS program. The move, it says, signifies the company’s commitment to sustainability and acknowledges ongoing improvements by US and Australian cotton growers.
The Cotton LEADS program, a joint effort of the Australian and US cotton industries, aims to raise awareness of responsible growing practices and to support continuous improvement among cotton producers in member countries. Currently, the program has more than 600 partner companies around the world.
Jennifer Lukowiak, director of supply chain marketing at Cotton Incorporated, said that by joining Cotton LEADS, Delta Apparel is underscoring its commitment to sustainability and to the role of US cotton fulfilling that commitment.
